5. Commitment to obtaining current first aid certification within three months of contracting with the agency.
6. Three satisfactory personal references from non-relatives, attesting to your suitability for working with children.

Can I have pets?

Certainly! Pets are welcome in the home. Ensure that pet vaccines are up to date, and take measures to keep the litterbox, food, and water inaccessible to the children.

Is there a cost to start up a dayhome?

Accepted Answer

Starting a day home with our agency is free, and we do not charge any initial fees. However, you will need to cover the expenses for a criminal background check and the First Aid course. Additionally, as a day home operator, you are responsible for the costs associated with running your day home, such as setting up the play space, providing food and drinks for children, etc. It's important to note that many of these business-related costs are tax-deductible since you are essentially running your own business.

Do I need to own my home?

No, it is not a requirement to own your home to operate a day home. If you are renting, you will, however, need to obtain written permission from your landlord allowing you to run a day home.

Question 5

How many children can I enroll in my day home/ how many spaces can I offer?

In your day home, you can enroll a maximum of six children, excluding your own children. Among these, up to three children may be 36 months or younger, and up to two children may be 24 months or younger. It's important to note that your own children must be included in these counts as per the standards.
